A Family Business
Today, our headquarters are still in New Bedford, MA, we have evolved to become Enos Home Medical, and we continue to look for new markets in which we can offer a high level of service to all. As a leader in Hospice supplies we are a preferred provider for many of the national DBMs. Our product line has expanded to compare with similar companies in major cities as we now provide a full range of DME equipment, ADL, wound care, ostomy, urological, incontinence and diabetic supplies. The company has also recently added a home modification team to meet the changing needs of our clients.
Our Story
Over the Years
1950
Founded
As an ambulance driver for the New Bedford Police Department, Richard Enos recognized the need for professional, dependable home oxygen service. Mr. Enos established his family owned business, Enos Home Oxygen Therapy & Medical Supply, in 1950. In hopes of improving the quality of care to his patients
1975
Jay Enos Takes Over
Richard Enos’ son Jay, a registered nurse, took over the company in the mid-1970s with the main goal of providing patient-oriented services, rather than just equipment rentals.
Over the next 30+ years Jay Enos grew the company from a 1 person, part-time business to a 30+ employee organization. The company quickly became a leader in the industry, becoming the first company to provide liquid oxygen in the area, the first to have MA Medicaid approved 02 concentrators, and the first independent company to become accredited in our local market. The company also expanded services from strictly respiratory to most DME products and services.
2003
Jon Enos
In 2003, after graduating from the Charlton School of Business, Jay’s son Jonathan joined in the family tradition, to run the business with a continued goal of growth and exceptional customer service. With the company growing rapidly, now employing over 100 people, Jay & Jonathan worked together to build our current facility to use new space to expand product lines optimize our practices to best serve our clients. As Jay retired & Jonathan then took the helm, he made it his goal to extend our geographical reach from just Bristol County to all of southern New England, to offer our exceptional service to new clientele.
